Some people pass through this world quietly. leaving only faint memories behind. But others leave a mark so deep. so full of warmth and love that their presence never truly fades. It lives on in every smile, ever story shared and every heart that they touched. Leslie Darlene Boyd Ellis was that kind of person. She was a woman of unwavering faith, deep compassion and remarkable strength whose life touched countless people.

On July 24. 1967. Daisy and Charles Boyd welcomed the birth of their daughter. Leslie Darlene. Leslie's birth was a quiet. but powerful start to a life journey well spent. She was educated in Laurens County School District 55. and was a 1985 graduate of Laurens District S High School. In adulthood. Leslie was admired as a tireless and dedicated employee of Walmart Distribution Center for thirty-five years. Her strong work ethic and determination earned the respect of her colleagues. She approached responsibility with excellence, grace and perseverance.

Leslie's strong faith was fully rooted in her personal relationship with God. She led a life strongly committed to service, her church and her community. A faithful and devoted member of Springfield Missionary Baptist Church, Leslie served with love and dedication as president of the Outreach Ministry. Her generous spirit and commitment to helping others was the heart of her ministry. She believed strongly in uplifting others, offering encouragement. support and kindness whenever it was needed. One of many examples of this is that during a thunderstorm and pouring rain. she was determined to take hot soup and cornbread to a sick church member. Upon arrival at the member's home, Leslie saw another need and addressed that need as well.

Known for her warm heart and giving nature. Leslie often bought food for the needy herself rather than wait for them to receive assistance elsewhere. She was a mentor to young people. especially her sons' friends when they were growing up. She was a listener to those who needed to vent and a source of wisdom to those who needed good advice. She was wise beyond her years. Her creativity and innovative ideas inspired those around her, and her vision helped to bring positive change. When a senior member of the church expressed her loneliness. Leslie started the ministry of "Seniors on the Go". Most recently she suggested "Golf Carts of Glory" for the 2026 Laurens Juneteenth Parade.

Leslie was a pillar of her family...a loving and supportive wife, a nurturing mother and a steady source of strength to the other members of her family. Her family was her joy, but her greatest pride and joy was her sons. Gabriel and Joshua. She devoted her life to being their mother. The Bible reminds us in Matthew 6:19-21 not to store up treasures here on Earth, where they fade and perish: but to build treasures to heaven. Leslie truly understood that calling. She lived a life of service, pouring herself into her sons and others...giving freely of her time, her love and her wisdom. Her treasures were never material. They were eternal. found in the lives she shaped.

There are those who come into our lives for a season. and there are those rare souls who become woven into the fabric of our life forever. Leslie was that rare soul for her husband, Rodney. The memories of her laughter, her warmth and the life they shared will remain in his heart for the rest of his days.

On August 16. 2026. Leslie Darlene Ellis passed from time to eternity. Like all who have found comfort in the shelter of the Most High, she now rests under the shadow of the Almighty. She was preceded in death by her father Mr. Charles Boyd.

Mourning her passing with dignity and grace are her loving husband of twenty three years. Rodney: her sons, Gabriel Boyd of Clinton, SC and Joshua Ellis of Laurens. SC: her mother, Mrs. Daisy Boyd of Laurens, SC: two brothers: Russell (Magnolia) Boyd of Laurens, SC and Ronald Boyd of Clinton, SC: three sisters: Pamela (Barry) Wheeler and Sharon (Carlos) Watts both of Laurens. SC and Dimetria Boyd of Simpsonville, SC: her mother-in-law, Mrs. Bertha Mae Ellis: three brothers-in-law: Craig Ellis, Minister Tony Ellis, and Bobby Ellis: as well as a host of nieces and nephews. A special heartfelt acknowledgement is also given to Leslie's friends and extended family. Those who knew her had a loyal. lifetime friend.

We are comforted in knowing that Leslie's purpose is completed. She was a quiet pillar of strength. independent. calm and unwavering in her love for others. So. today we not only mourn, we honor. We honor a life well lived. a love well given and a legacy that will never fade. Her voice. her laughter, her gentle corrections and her endless care will echo in us forever. She is in the arms of the Lord. Rest Well.
