Laura W. Anderson

Laura W. Anderson, a beloved mother, grandmother, sister, friend, and family matriarch, peacefully transitioned on June 23, 2026. Born on March 31, 1943, in Laurens, SC, Laura's life was a testament to love, resilience, and faith.

Laura was the eldest daughter of Johnnie and Orrie Whitmire, setting a foundation of strength and guidance for her 13 siblings. She took on the role of caretaker with a natural grace, always prioritizing the well-being of those she loved. Her siblings, George Whitmire, Johnny Whitmire, Inez Wilson, Vickie Shaw, and Roger Whitmire, survive her, carrying forward the legacy of familial devotion that Laura so cherished.

On September 5, 1962, Laura married Eugene Anderson, embarking on a love story that spanned over six decades. Together, they built a life of commitment and devotion, exemplifying the vows they shared until Eugene's passing on October 10, 2023. Their union was blessed with children, Bobby Anderson and Patricia Robinson, who, along with grandchildren Akeylas (Chyna) Robinson, Damein (Dometricia) Nance, Kimarria Smith, and Shaun Whitmire, will continue to honor her memory. Laura was further blessed with six great-grandchildren who will grow up hearing stories of their great-grandmother's love and strength.

A graduate of Sanders High School in May 1962, Laura was a dedicated employee at the Laurens Glass Plant for 31 years. Her colleagues respected her for her strong work ethic and kind spirit, qualities that defined her both in and out of the workplace. Beyond her professional life, Laura's heart was deeply rooted in her faith. As a devoted member of New China Baptist Church, she served diligently as an usher and trustee, her love for the Lord evident in all she did.

Her life was a beacon of warmth, wisdom, and unwavering love, a true embodiment of the scripture: “Well done, good and faithful servant.” – Matthew 25:23.

A celebration of Laura's life will be held on June 28, 2026, at New China Baptist Church, 2287 Milam Rd, Clinton, SC 29325. The family extends heartfelt gratitude to the staff of Amedisys Home Health and VIA Health partners for their compassionate care during Laura's final days.

As we mourn Laura's passing, we also celebrate the beautiful life she lived. Her memory will forever remain in the hearts of her family and all who were fortunate enough to know her. Rest in peace, Laura, knowing you have fought a good fight, finished your course, and kept the faith. — 2 Timothy 4:7.
