Cassandra Pereale Rice

Ms. Cassandra Pereale Rice was born October 5th, 1975 to Mrs. Bertha Lee Bowers Rice and the late Robert Lee Darby and Reverend Ernest Rice, Sr. She attended the public schools of Laurens County, South Carolina and was a graduate of the Laurens District 55 High School Class of 1993. At an early age, she joined the Duncan Creek Baptist Church in Laurens, South Carolina where she enjoyed singing on the Praise Team and the Mass Choir. She also ministered through song with the St. John Baptist Church Choir in Cross Hill, South Carolina.

“Sandra,” as she was lovingly called by her dear loved ones, was a member of Queen Mary Chapter No. 214, Order of Eastern Star. For many years, she was employed at Pierburg Company in Simpsonville, South Carolina and worked many years at Timken, ZF, and Fokoku.

In addition to her fathers, she was preceded in death by her grandparents: Maggie Lee Darby, Oscar and Rosabell Rice, and Thomas and Gennette B. Scurry.

She leaves to cherish her precious memories, in addition to her mother, her loving son, Denzell Latimore; her beloved daughter, Mykayla Neely; three grandchildren: Kaitlyn Latimore, Kaylee Latimore, and Kaisyn Latimore; two sisters: Dana Lee and Kim (Anthony) Chalmers; one brother, Reverend Ernest (Sharnice) Rice, Jr.; nieces and nephews: Josiah Stewart, Zipporah Scurry, Ty Rice, Sean Rice, Te Hill, and Kaleb Chalmersl; and a host of other relatives and friends that will miss her dearly.
